  1. If you are considering vising the Dominican Republic first of all, do it! Secondly, hands down David is the best guide on the island! He knows the ins and outs of Jarabacoa like the back of his hand. From horseback riding, afternoon adventures, waterfall hikes, rafting, transportation, to hiking Pico Duarte and everything in between--David has got you covered. He is not only extremely affordably priced, but he truly offers the most amazing and fun experiences. The secret waterfall is one of my all time favorites which I highly recommend.

I hiked Pico Duarte for the first time this February and although the hike itself is definitely physically challenging, it was incredibly smooth and perfectly planned. David took care of everything for the group including providing two incredible guides Silo & Carlos who did all of the cooking, took care of the mules, food, water, camping gear, and all of the necessary supplies that we needed for the trip. *Also tons of bonus points* for taking incredible pictures during the whole hike, which were so precious for me to be able to have at the end.

Not only were they great guides, they are genuinely good people too! As a single woman traveler (and relatively inexperienced hiker) a trip like this can seem a little daunting, but I cannot overstate how safe and well cared for I felt the whole entire trip. If you have never done a big hike like this, I would recommend doing it in 3 days instead of 2 so you can sort of take your time with it, as it is a challenging hike. All in all I have to give David & his team 5 GOLD stars. I am definitely going to return next year and hike again! Muchisimas gracias David!

  2. David is FANTASTIC! My group and I contacted David just one week before we wanted to hike Pico Duarte, and he made it happen seamlessly. He gave us a great recommendation of where to stay the night before the hike, and picked us up on time the next morning for a delicious breakfast before he sent us off with his brother Silo and two other guides. Silo was the perfect guide and he stayed patient with us when things got difficult. There was sufficient food, and we kept up the pace very well. For being so reasonably priced, David is definitely the best choice. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience hiking Pico Duarte through David. t
